The number of locally made parts and equipments used in the drilling industry will go beyond 20,000 by the end of current Iranian calendar year (on March 20, 2013), Head of the National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) Heidar Bahmani said.

Bahmani said during the current year that has been dubbed the Year Of National Production, Supporting Iranian Labor and Capital his company has set a target for manufacturing of 3.000 drilling parts.

"Manufacturing these parts is under way via cooperation among NIDC's experts, research and scientific centers and domestic manufacturers," Bahmani told Shana.

He said that using domestic capabilities was one of top priorities of the company, adding nearly 3 .000 thousand billion rials have been spent in the sector that has resulted in manufacturing five drilling rigs and up to 18.500 highly consumed parts of drilling machines and equipments related to technical and expertise services.

According to Bahmani, the NIDC is cooperating with 12 academic, scientific and research centers in a bid to produce essential equipments and parts needed in drilling sector.

Bahmani said the company would expand cooperation to 20 academic and scientific centers to speed up local production of drilling industry tools and equipments.
