Iran exported $4 billion worth of technical and engineering services to different world nations last year.

Based on figures, Iran's industrialists acquired significant achievements during the last Iranian year (ended March 19, 2012) and exported technical and engineering services, including planning, implementing, repairing and maintenance in various arenas, as much as $4bln to various customers worldwide.

Following the previous year's achievements, the Iranian electricity industry has recently inked a contract with Indonesia in the field of exporting technical and engineering services valuing at $ 46mln.

Earlier, an Iranian trade official had announced that Iran's exports of technical and engineering services to the other countries in 2009 have surpassed $3bln worth in value despite the ongoing global economic recession.

"During 1387 (March 2008 to March 2009) a total number of 81 projects with a (total) value of $2.5bln have been concluded and the average value for each project stood at $31mln, while the number of projects concluded during the last year (2009-2010) reached 58 with an average value of 48mln (for each project)," Deputy Head of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran for Trade Assistance Kioumars Fathollah Kemanshahi said in 2010.

"During March 2008 to March 2009 a total number of 81 projects with a (total) value of $2.5bln were concluded and the average value for each project stood at $31mln, while the number of projects concluded during 2009-2010 reached 58 with an average value of 48mln (for each project)," Kemanshahi said in 2010.

Another senior Iranian economic official said a year ago that the country's volume of export of its technical and engineering services will reach to $4.5bln by the end of the current Iranian year (March 19, 2012).
