A senior Iranian military commander says the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) forces are in full combat readiness to repel any invasion against the Islamic Republic.

Brigadier General Mohammad Hossein Sepehr said on Sunday that IRGC combatants are at the peak of their intelligence, insight, courage and faith, and are ready to wreak havoc on any possible invader.

The general described the present circumstances as “war conditions and faceoff with the enemy,” saying that different aspects of the ongoing cultural and economic war waged against Iran by the arrogant powers should be clearly delineated.

“Despite the enemy’s superiority in terms of military equipment and technology, the faith, insight, spirituality and readiness for martyrdom ... of the Iranian nation and the [Iranian] Armed Forces will foil all enemies' threats,” Sepehr added.

Israel has repeatedly threatened Iran with a military strike, falsely claiming that Tehran is pursuing non-civilian objectives in its nuclear energy program.

Iran rejects the allegations, arguing that as a committed signatory to Non-Proliferation Treaty and a member of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), it has the right to use nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.

In addition, the IAEA has conducted numerous inspections of Iran's nuclear facilities but has never found any evidence showing that Iran's nuclear energy program has been diverted toward military objectives.
