Khabar Online: The 14th election of the representative of press and news agencies’ directors was held in Iran, with Hossein Entezami winning majority of the votes.

Hossein Entezami was elected as one of th members of the Ministry of Islamic Culture and Guidance’s Press Supervisory Board on Tuesday, as he received 63 percent of the ballots, defeating his major rival Seyyed Nezam Mousavi, the general director of Fars News Agency.
Entezami, the former speaker of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, won the election with 322 votes out of a total of 513, while Mousavi received 183 votes.
It is the 5th time that Entezami elected as the representative of general directors of press and news agencies in the press supervisory board.
Some 20 people were nominated in the election but some of them canceled their nomination just before the election started.
Hossein Entezami is the founder of JameJam newspaper and was the former general director of Hamshahri daily. He is known as a conservative principlist and has close links to Iran’s Majlis speaker Ali Larijani. He is now the head of Khabar Media Institute policy making board.
