A sum of 61 films produced in the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) countries have, thus far, been sent to the 31th Fajr International Film Festival secretariat for competition and screening in the event.

"From among the 120 NAM member states, 26 countries have partaken in the Fajr Festival until now and 61 films have been received from these states," Director of the International Section of the 31th Fajr International Film Festival Ali Haj-Qassemi said on Saturday.

The 30th Fajr International Film Festival will be held from January 31st to February 10th, 2013, in Tehran and some other Iranian provinces.

Haj-Qassemi said that Algeria, Azerbaijan, Chile, Colombia, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Lebanon, Morocco, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Senegal, Singapore, South Africa, Sudan, Bangladesh, Syria, Thailand, Tunisia, United Arabic Emirates, Vietnam, Malaysia, Kenya and Guatemala are among the NAM member states whose filmmakers have sent their works to the Fajr Festival.

NAM is a group of states considering themselves not aligned formally with or against any major power bloc. The movement has 120 members and 17 observer countries. Iran holds the NAM presidency for three years, which started in August.
