Ankara is to host U.S. troops for several days to deploy Patriot missile defense shield and is something which in recent months has been met with mixed reactions from neighboring Turkey. However, this analysis should be considered a critical point, the first Patriot missiles being installed in Turkey Ankara to apply for a decision to be taken, and secondly, in the context of the larger "strategy NDS America" considered the. Last year, the Obama administration's National Security Strategy document published in the current decade, including goals and plans for America would be considered three areas: security of America, national security of America, America's allies, American Friends and security and safety, of their interests and forces around the world.
This year's defense budget for 2013 to be better defined as different parts which consider Iran and North Korea's nuclear and missile threats, security, defense, homeland security, security, security of American forces and America's allies in Asia, the Middle East, Persian Gulf, America's goals and programs in these areas. In order to implement the National Security Strategy plan, America has predicted different levels of defense.
* the United States has delineated various levels of defense which include the establishment of a defense system to repel direct threats against the united states for example by the North Korea and Iran. The attacks on the U.S. soil by long-range missiles which are even able to carry nuclear warheads is supposed to be fended off by air defense systems deployed in different parts of the world including Turkey.
*System to prevent another nuclear attack targets in America's strategic security document and can be expected to destroy missiles in space. In this regard, even the project to reduce the environmental consequences of the destructive spread of radioactive material in space is defined
In my view, although the ongoing event may be related to the Syrian developments and disputes between Iran and Israel, but it is a part of the defensive system the Americans have designed to organize security for themselves, their allies and the West in general. At the moment according to US strategist views, the most serious threat against the United States is the proliferation of nuclear weapons by forces claimed to be allied with "terrorist groups". Unfortunately In the document "The National Security Strategy" the role the Islamic Republic of Iran can play in these threats is significantly described, so they consider that the deployment of air defense missile batteries may deter so called Iran's missile threats against the West and allies of the NATO.
But the real question is why Turkey was chosen to install the shield? In fact, Turkey has implemented a project of the decade ago that defines its position in the world ahead. Ankara to execute the project goals based on the position of regional, global, political, and economic and social, is defined. The geopolitical significance of Turkey's special status in the regional and international cooperation is Turkey's three strategic area of the Middle East, the Caucasus and Europe is facing. This unique status allows Turkey's security and defense policies in Europe, America and NATO will find a special place.
Meanwhile, Turkey is making efforts to play its role deftly and turn into a regional power in the new international order. Turkey's Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu recently said for Ankara is not acceptable that its neighbors get access to the weapons which Turkish army lacks.
The function of the missiles in the Middle East has undergone a crisis situation, yet has many interpretations. This fact should be kept in mind that the Patriot missiles are primarily defensive and has not offensive capability whatsoever. American Troops in the Persian Gulf and East Mediterranean have prepared numerous offensive opportunities. So probably they want to minimize their weaknesses from any potential interaction. In this case should see how they described the threats.
Threats can originate from Iran, Syria and even Russia and China. All these countries could potentially threaten the Us Home land and the interests of the United States of America, as they mentioned. These missiles are likely is going to save the security of homeland security of America, America's allies and friendly nations of America (Persian Gulf countries) to meet and possibly around the Middle East, Asia and Europe will be installed. But it cannot be said that the missile defense installations in Turkey directly to defend Israel against Iranian missile threats.
