The Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) has reaffirmed Iran’s “undeniable” nuclear rights, saying that diplomacy is the only solution to the Western dispute over Iran's nuclear energy program.

In a statement read at a meeting of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna on Tuesday, NAM emphasized the inalienable rights of all countries, including Iran, for the development of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes without discrimination and based on legal obligations.

The statement also supported diplomatic means to resolve the issues pertaining to Iran’s nuclear energy program.

NAM also said the establishment of a Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zone (NWFZ) in the Middle East would be a “positive step” in the accomplishment of global nuclear disarmament.

The Israeli regime, which is widely known to have between 200 and 400 nuclear warheads, is the only possessor of nuclear weapons in the Middle East.

Tel Aviv rejects all the regulatory international nuclear agreements and refuses to allow its nuclear facilities to come under international inspections.

The NAM statement also stressed that any attack against peaceful nuclear facilities is in violation of international law.

The Non-Aligned Movement welcomed constant cooperation between the IAEA and the Islamic Republic over Iran’s nuclear energy program.

Iran took the three-year rotating presidency of the NAM from Egypt during the 16th summit of the organization held in the Iranian capital, Tehran, in late August 2012.
