A campaign spokesman of presidential candidate Saeed Jalili said Jalili, Iran's top negotiator in nuclear talks with the world powers, enjoys unique characteristics which make him the best choice for leading the country as Iran's next president.

Spokesman of Jalili's University Students Election Campaign Office Hossein Zoqi outlined Jalili's unique characteristics and qualifications.
Zoqi made the remarks during the first press conference of Jalili's Election Campaign Staff held at FNA premises in Tehran on Saturday.

Zoqi pointed to Jalili's diplomatic capabilities on the scene of international relations as his most important feature, which has already attracted thousands of supporters, specially from the students movements to his elections campaign, and said, "He is regarded as an icon in the international arena."

"As regards the nuclear issue, the dispute was once over the suspension of Iran's nuclear enrichment activities, while the world power are now requesting Iran to allow them to visit the country's nuclear plants which is due to Jalili's spirit of resistance," he said.

Zoqi also pointed to Jalili's simple lifestyle and his popular spirit as his another important characteristic, and said Jalili has risen from the ordinary class of the society "and he is different from a person who lives in a posh neighborhood in Northern Tehran and moves around with several bodyguards".

He said that Jalili's third feature is his competence and understanding of the Holy Quran and Quranic concepts.

Zoqi referred to Jalili's competence in different affairs of the country as his fourth outstanding feature.

He said Jalili will be a president that the Islamic Awakening (Arab Spring) movement which has swept the regional countries needs.

Zoqi said Jalili is an independent presidential candidate and is not indebted or inclined to a specific group, party or stream and will, thus, feel free to employ the best and most capable experts from different spectrum for his administration.

Zoqi said that Jalili's sixth important characteristic is that he is a man of hard days and a fervent proponent of the Economy of Resistance which is promoted by the Supreme Leader.

Speaking at the same press conference today, Head of Jalili's University Students Election Campaign Office Seyed Mohsen Dehnavi announced that Jalili's campaign centers which work under the title and motto of 'Resistance is the Key to Progress' are active in 30 provinces now.

He noted that 10,000 Iranian university students have said that they are ready to support Jalili's presidential campaign.

"Owing to its idealistic nature the university students movement was studying some choices, including Jalili, since nine months ago that predictions started about election nominees," Dehnavi added.

He noted that the movement has now joined Jalili's campaign centers and set up 60 such offices in universities across the country.

Dehnavi said that one of Jalili's recommendations to his campaign headquarters at the Iranian universities has been respect for ethics in the election as a prerequisite.

He mentioned that Jalili's University Students Election Campaign Centers will begin their activities in mosques and city squares next week, and added, "Our advantage on the election scene is having young, innovative and creative forces who are ready to come to the scene to defend their causes and ideals."

Dehnavi said that most of the university students have mobilized to support Jalili and this can be clearly seen at the universities.
