Iranian Oil Minister Rostam Qassemi, who is in Vienna to attend the conference of Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, said that members of the OPEC are against the West's unilateral sanctions against Tehran.

Speaking upon arrival in Vienna on Thursday evening, Qassemi said the unilaterally imposed western sanctions against Iran are another issue that would be discussed in Friday session of OPEC.

"Most OPEC member countries are opposed to the unilaterally sanctions imposed by some western countries against the Islamic Republic of Iran and ask for issuing a declaration about the issue," he noted.

"Since oil is an economic product and the activities of OPEC are of economic nature, Iran's least expectation is that the OPEC members would issue a communiqué in support of Tehran against the unilaterally imposed western sanctions."

The 163rd Ordinary OPEC Conference would begin its activities on Friday in Vienna at the Permanent OPEC Headquarters in the Austrian capital city in the presence of the OPEC oil ministers.

Meantime, Qazzemi further stated that Iran has always favored balance in international oil Market.
