Carlos Queiroz would rather not talk about Iran football. The reports in the media claim that there was a rift between the coach and the Iranian football officials.

The Portuguese coach left Iran on Saturday and the Iranian media reported that he will likely quit his job.

Queiroz had a row with the Iranian football officials after they could not arrange the friendlies.

“I don’t want to talk about Iran football and if there's any question you can ask Mr. Kaffashian (head of the Iranian football federation). He will explain what has happened. I was forced to leave the country,” the Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA) quoted Queiroz as saying.

“I sent Mr. Kaffashian a letter and he knows everything. At the moment I prefer not to talk about Iran football. I’ve no idea,” the 60-year-old coach added.

Iram’s training camp which was supposed to be held in Portugal was cancelled due to lack of funds. Iran was scheduled to face Gabon in Lisbon on September 12 as well as a friendly against Sporting Lisbon.
