Syrian army soldiers repelled rebel groups' attacks in various regions of Aleppo's countryside and some other neighborhoods in the city's outskirts.

Antigovernment militants attacked on Aleppo's Central Prison and the Thermal Power Plant, but they were pushed back by the Syrian army units who also inflicted heavy losses on the insurgents.

Meantime, some other units of Syrian army clashed with the insurgents in the areas of al-Sfaira, al-Jadeda and Kweris which resulted in killing and wounding of dozens of militants, the SANA reported.

Once again, security was restored to the Rasm al-Abboud Airport and Aleppo Southern entrance when Syrian army powerfully defended its strongholds there and forces the rebels to escape from battle fields.

Insurgents' attempted to infiltrate into Salah Eddin neighborhood in Aleppo, but the Syrian soldiers who were present there prevented them, so many rebels were killed during the clash.

The conflict in Syria started in March 2011, when sporadic pro-reform protests turned into a massive insurgency following the intervention of western and regional states.

The unrest, which took in terrorist groups from across Europe, the Middle-East and North Africa, has transpired as one of the bloodiest conflicts in recent history.

As the foreign-backed insurgency in Syria continues without an end in sight, the US government has boosted its political and military support to Takfiri extremists.

Washington has remained indifferent to warnings by Russia and other world powers about the consequences of arming militant groups.
