Iran's Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani plans to pay an official visit to China to hold talks for the expansion of mutual ties.

The senior lawmaker’s visit is scheduled for October 29 through November 1, IRNA reported.

During his stay, the top Iranian MP will sit down with high-ranking Chinese authorities, including President Xi Jinping.

Larijani will discuss the promotion of parliamentary, political, economic and cultural ties between Iran and China during his meetings.

The visit comes at the invitation of Zhang Dejiang, the chairman of China's Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), which is the country's top legislature.
