Iran's Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh said he plans to give more room to veteran oil ministry staff for maneuvering.

“The veteran oil industry manpower are experienced and wise enough and I intend to create enough space for them to work so that this industry will become a center of prudence and collective wisdom,” Zanganeh said.

“In the past years, Petroleum Ministry has been subject to myriads traumas which need to be repaired with the help of all sympathizers of petroleum industry quickly,” he added.

“The previous administration imagined that petroleum industry has financial resources and it did not trust its human resources while it was seriously mistaken because petroleum ministry forces focused on wisdom in the exercise of their job and they did not make emotional decisions,” said the minister.

Zanganeh added that the previous administration made changes in the petroleum industry in an unacceptable way.

The minister said efforts must be undertaken to return wisdom and prudence to the petroleum industry.

Zanganeh stated that former veteran oil industry staff are now working in Iran’s neighboring countries.

“We can upgrade the status of Iran at the international level by wisdom and prudence and when the country gets richer people’s living conditions will get better,” he said.

“The problems we face today in production, exports and purchase of commodities in the petroleum industry have never been like today,” noted Zanganeh. “Iran can take advantage of the power of oil in its international negotiations to facilitate foreign relations and improve its status.”
