At the meeting held in the provincial capital city of Orumiyeh on Saturday, Bulut voiced pleasure in the good atmosphere existing for broadening the economic relations between Iran and Turkey, and called on the officials of the two Muslim neighboring states to do their best to this end.
He said his country's traders and businessmen are eager to make investment in Iran, and explained, "Thanks to (the desirable level of) security in the West Azarbaijan province, Turkish investors have been showing increasing enthusiasm for making investment in the province."
Bulut further called on the West Azarbaijan's Investment Service Center to pave the ground for the Turkish investors' growing partnership in the province's investment projects.
He underscored the economic capacities of the Northwestern Iranian province, and said, "This province (West Azarbaijan) enjoys various economic capacities, including tourism and investment projects, which can deepen (the Turkish) investors' interest in this province."
Iran and Turkey have widened their efforts in the last decade to bolster their economic and trade exchanges. Officials of the two sides have repeatedly declared that they have targeted a 30-billion-dollar ceiling for their mutual trade.
Addressing a meeting of Iran-Turkey Joint Trade Council in July, Governor-General of Iran’s East-Azarbaijan Ahmad Alirezabeigi said, “The value of trade transactions between Iran and Turkey has risen by more than four or five times compared to three years ago, urging the two countries’ officials to target $30bln in their trade relations.”
As regards issues discussed in Iran-Turkey Joint Trade Council, the Iranian governor-general said, “A comparison between the issues and problems discussed in this and the last meeting which was held in Ankara shows that the two countries have removed many problems.”
More than 100 Iranian and Turkish businessmen and traders discussed issues of mutual interest in the Trade Council meeting at the time.
Turkish Deputy Development Minister Mohammad Jaylan also participated in the meeting.
