President Hassan Rouhani warned the Iranian nation of enemies’ plots to exaggerate and widen the gap among different Muslim tribes and ethnic groups.

“Our call is the call for Islam and unity among Muslims and we see no difference between the Kurds and non-Kurds,” Rouhani said, addressing a cabinet meeting in Tehran on Sunday evening.

“The enemy seeks to misuse ethnic groups while the Kurds have always known themselves as Iranian wherever they have lived,” he added.

In relevant remarks in 2011, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei warned the world Muslims against the plots hatched by the enemies to sow discord among Muslim nations and followers of different Islamic faiths.

The Leader made the remarks addressing a meeting with cultural and executive staff and personnel of Hajj in Tehran in October 2011.

"Enemies of Islam and Muslims will make more attempts (during the Hajj rituals in Mecca) this year to foment sectarian and ethnic strife among Muslims because the Islamic awakening is waving its sharp point and menacing the world arrogance and Zionism," Ayatollah Khamenei said.
