Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov expressed satisfaction with the preliminary steps taken by both Iran and the world powers to pave the ground for the implementation of the recently sealed nuclear deal in Geneva.

Lavrov, in an interview with the Russian TV Channel Russia Today on Tuesday, said that Geneva nuclear agreement was a success resulted from collective efforts.

He added that primary agreement to settle Iran's nuclear program is the result of years of efforts.

He stressed that the final goal of talks is settlement of situation and acceptance of Iran's right to use peaceful nuclear program, including uranium enrichment to produce nuclear fuel for atomic power plants, with removing all problems related to the nature of nuclear program and supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency ( IAEA) on the program.

On November 24, Iran and the six world powers sealed an interim deal in the Swiss city of Geneva to lay the groundwork for the full resolution of the dispute between the West and Iran over Tehran’s nuclear energy program.

In exchange for Iran agreeing to limit certain aspects of its nuclear activities, the six countries undertook to lift some of the existing sanctions against Tehran.
