According to Iran’s Customs Office, the country’s most trade interactions have been made with Iraq with $4.408bln of exports and $48mln of imports from that country during the above period.
Also Iran exported $1.853bln of goods and services to Afghanistan and imported $23mln of commodities from that country in the said period of time.
“The volume of Iran’s exports to Turkmenistan reached $640mln, to Egypt $409mln and to Azerbaijan $377mln in the last 9 months while the volume of Iran’s imports from the mentioned countries amounted to $76mln, $6mln and $18mln respectively,” the Customs Office said.
The Iranian Customs Data also said on Wednesday the value of Iran’s foreign trade exchanges hit $62.5 billion during the first nine months of the current Iranian year.
The value of non-oil goods, including gas condensates, exported from Iran in the past nine months hit $29.241 billion.
Also, Iran imported $33.266 billion worth of goods from the UAE, China, India, South Korea and Turkey in the said period, the report said.
Iran has trade transactions with over 105 world countries.
Earlier this year, former Iranian Economy Minister Seyed Shamseddin Hosseini said that Iran’s non-oil exports witnessed an eye-catching growth in the last Iranian year (ended March 20, 2013) despite the sanctions and restrictions imposed by the West on Tehran.
“The value of the country’s non-oil goods exported last year hit $41.3 billion,” the Iranian economy minister said, addressing a conference on monetary policy of global economy.
He noted that the figure shows an increase as compared with last year due to growth in tourism sector and exports of agricultural and mineral products.
“The non-oil export deficit reduced to $12.3 billion last year from the previous figure of $18 billion,” Hosseini said
