Iran's President Hassan Rouhani voiced Tehran's willingness to expand Tehran's relations with Dushanbe in all the various economic, political, cultural, and scientific fields.

Speaking at a meeting with visiting Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Aslov, the Iranian president called for expansion of all-out ties with the Central Asian country.

President Rouhani underlined that Iran attaches great importance to progress of Persian-speaking countries.

He added that the two countries enjoy great potentials for political, economic and cultural cooperation.

Aslov, for his part, conveyed warm greetings of Tajik President Emomali Rahmon to President Rouhani and extended his formal invitation to his Iranian counterpart to visit Tajikistan.

The Tajik diplomat also described the current level of mutual cooperation as insufficient, calling for implementation of joint projects and expansion of all-out relations with Iran.

Iran and Tajikistan have recently accelerated expansion of their ties and cooperation and observers believe that the good achievements gained in area of their mutual cooperation should be deemed as a result of the efforts made by the two countries’ officials.
