Iranian Ground Force Commander Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan reiterated the Army's constant watch on the movements made by the enemies and trans-regional states in different situations.

The Islamic Republic of Iran's Army monitors threats in land, air and sea so that if the enemy wants to take any action, it will face the firm response of the Army," Brigadier General Pourdastan told reporters on the sidelines of a ceremony to mark the National Army Day in Tehran on Friday.

The Iranian Ground Force commander pointed to his force's new achievements, and said, "Iran's newly made light firearm, Mohrram, and optimized tanks participated in the parade in a bid to display the Ground Force's power."

Brigadier General Pourdastan also referred to the Iranian Ground Force's drone capabilities, and said, "We use the drones, mostly for reconnaissance missions, along the borders which have given the Ground Force an upper-hand" in confrontation against enemies.

The Iranian Army displayed its latest home-made military tools, weapons and equipment in large military parades in Tehran on Friday.

The ceremony took place at the mausoleum of the Founder of the Islamic Republic, the Late Imam Khomeini, in Southern Tehran.

During the parades, the Army units displayed different weapons and military tools and equipment, including different kinds of fighters, choppers, drones, ground-to-ground missiles, air-to-ground missiles, surface-to-surface missiles, tactical and armed vehicles, surface and underwater vessels, electronic and telecommunication equipment, light and mid-light weapons, different kinds of artillery and mortar-launchers, air defense systems and engineering and logistic equipment.

Different units of the Islamic Republic Army staged military parades in Tehran and other cities across Iran on Friday morning to mark the National Army Day.

Senior Iranian officials, including President Rouhani, as well as a host of top military commanders were present at the ceremony.

The Iranian army has recently test-fired different types of newly-developed missiles and torpedoes and tested a large number of home-made weapons, tools and equipment, including submarines, military ships, artillery, choppers, aircrafts, UAVs and air defense and electronic systems, during massive military drills.

Defense analysts and military observers say that Iran's wargames and its advancements in weapons production have proved as a deterrent factor, specially at a time of heightened threats by the US.
