Iran’s national freestyle wrestling team in Astana, Kazakhstan, on Thursday was crowned champion of Asian freestyle wrestling competition, IRNA reported.

Three Iranian wrestlers won gold medals on the first day of the competition on Wednesday and reached the final stage held on Thursday.

The gold medalists -- Ahmad Ahmadi in 65-kg, Meisam Mostafa Jokar in 86-kg and Komeil Qasemi in 125-kg weight categories defeated their competitors Wednesday.

On the second day of the 27th Asian freestyle wrestling championship Thursday, three Iranian athletes in the 61-, 70- and 74-kg categories emerged triumphant against all their rivals and reached the finals.

This is the 22nd championship of Iran in Asian freestyle wrestling.
