Iranian Minister of Oil Bijan Namdar Zanganeh said all phases of the supergiant South Pars gas field should and will come on-stream as planned with support from the government.

Addressing a meeting of the oil industry managers and the first vice president in the gas field south of Iran, Zanganeh said the government is set to remove obstacles, which are not few, to launch all South Pars phases, the Petroenergy news network SHANA reported on Tuesday.

ˈUnfortunately, we have stayed behind our neighboring countries in recovering natural gas from the field, even though we began working on the field in 1997 by solely Iranian engineers,ˈ he added.

He further expressed his satisfaction over the performance of Iranian contractors operating in the field.
