"Cairo's long delay in issuing license for the flight carrying Iranian food and medicine aid to Gaza through Egypt is not acceptable," Amir Abdollahian said on Wednesday.
He said that Iran calls on the relevant Egyptian officials to accelerate the issue of permits for Tehran's aid cargoes to Gaza.
The Iranian deputy foreign minister noted that 57 Palestinian infants, children and women, who have been critically injured in the Israeli regime’s atrocities in the coastal enclave, are waiting for Egypt to allow them to be dispatched to Iran for medical treatment.
On Tuesday, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Morteza Sarmadi in a meeting with the outgoing Italy's Ambassador to Tehran Luca Giansanti underscored that the removal of the Gaza siege should be included in any ceasefire plan between Israel and the Palestinians.
He touched upon the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, and said lifting the Israeli blockade on Gaza should be part of any ceasefire plan.
He expressed deep concern over the situation in the besieged Gaza Strip, and criticized silence of the international organizations on what's happening in the impoverished Palestinian district.
Israel has been pounding the blockaded Gaza for 23 consecutive days, killing at least 1,260 people and injuring more than 7,000 others.
The Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, has been launching retaliatory attacks against Israel.
