The injury sustained by Armin Tashakori on his Iran debut is not serious, according to Iran's Volleyball team physician.

Siamak Afrouzi, Iran's Volleyball team physician, does not think the Iranian Volleyballer will fall foul to a serious injury at the 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship, adding that only Shahram Mahmoudi would not play against France.

Shahram Mahmoudi was absent against the US after he suffered a twisted ankle in the match against Italy in the opening game of the 2014 FIVB World Championship on Sunday. The Iranian physician had announced prior to the yesterday match against the US that Mahmoudi is out of the squad because of injury, adding that the Iranian genius would definitely be out in the two matches against the US and France.

Yet, the Iranian doctor is hopeful that a few days rest would be enough for the Volleyballer to return to action when Iran will face most powerful teams of the world in the tournament.

Iran's National Volleyball team overpowered the US 3-2 (25-23, 25-19, 19-25, 18-25 and 17-15) in their second match in the 2014 FIVB World Championship in Poland on Tuesday.

The Iranian thrashed Italy 3-1 (25-16, 23-25, 25-21 and 25-22) in their opening match on Sunday.

After Iran's victory against US, Kovac's men stood at the top of their pool with 5 points from their two matches.

The 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship matches are underway in Poland from August 30 to September 21, 2014.

Iran will play their third match against France on 4 September.

The National Iranian volleyball team ranked fourth in the FIVB 2014 World League, gaining the best title among the Asian teams which have participated in the 25-year history of the league.
