Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, in a decree on Saturday, appointed Mohammad Sarafraz as the new president of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) for a five-year period.

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, in a decree on Saturday, appointed Mohammad Sarafraz as the new president of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) for a five-year period.

Sarafraz, who served as the head of the IRIB’s World Service for two decades during which several foreign-language satellite channels, including press tv, al-Alam and Hispan tv were launched, replaced Ezzatollah Zarqami, who presided over the IRIB for two five-year terms since 2004.
