Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani rapped the Israelis' recent attacks and insults to Muslims at al-Aqsa mosque, and said the crimes committed by the Takfiri terrorists have provided the ground for the Zionist regime to do such atrocities.

"The savage terrorist stream is continuously in conflict with Muslims in the Islamic countries and this has created an opportunistic atmosphere for the Zionist regime to act boldly and hurt the Muslims' hearts by desecrating the Muslims' first Qibla," Larijani said, addressing an open session of the parliament in Tehran on Sunday.

"The Muslim governments should rise against this abhorrent measure of the Zionist regime and shout against the plots of the regime which has no identity and they should grow united with the oppressed Palestinian nation which needs the Muslims' supports these days after their uprising," he added.

For several decades, prayers access has been banned to Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israel, and only Muslims are permitted to pray there. The shrine is currently under the administration of Muslim authorities.

In September, Israeli forces decided to only allow Palestinians over the age of 50 to enter the site. The Palestinian population feared Israel was going to restrict access to the mosque for all Muslims. That caused a series of clashes with Israeli police at the site.

In relevant remarks on Wednesday, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian said the Israeli spy agency, Mossad, had contributed a major role in the creation of ISIL terrorist group.

The most important intelligence organization, which has had a role in formation of the ISIL and supported its function, is Mossad and there are abundant evidences substantiating the idea, Amir Abdollahian told al-Ahd website.

He added that the leaders and members of the terrorist group follow up the extremist ideology and act in the name of Islam but it is in contradiction with injunctions of Islam and their aim is to distort image of Islam
