Iran's President Congratulates Finnish Counterpart on National Day

Politics - Iran's President Hassan Rouhani, in a message on Saturday, extended his felicitations to his Finnish counterpart Sauli Niinisto on the country's national day.

President Rouhani also expressed the hope that Tehran-Helsinki relations would further grow in near future.

In September, Finnish Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja underscored Iran's remarkable progress in various fields of science, particularly in stemcells technology, and called for the promotion of scientific relations between the two countries' universities and academic centers.

Tuomioja, who paid a visit to Shiraz University of Medical Sciences and the Oncology Laboratory at the time, underscored Iran's eye-catching progress in stemcells.

"Iran and Finland can promote their relations extensively in the field of culture and education," he said.
