An Iranian flick ‘Block 9, Exit 2’, written and directed by noted filmmaker Alireza Amini, received the ‘Best Film’ award at the 14th Kimera International Film Festival in Termoli, Italy.

Setayesh Mahmoudi took the ‘Best Young Actress’ award for her role in the flick, said to a report by Mehr New Agency.

 

‘Block 9, Exit 2’ competed with 17 other movies from the US, Italy, Belgium, Germany, Albania and the Czech Republic in the festival held from June 22 to 27.

 

The cast of the film includes: Amir Jafari, Pantea Bahram, Hamidreza Azarang, Elham Korda and Setayesh Mahmoudi.

 

The festival aims to develop cinema culture, especially about fantastic cinema and social committed shorts.

 

The fest started as a short movies competition in May 2003. Its first name was ‘The Night of the Living Shorts’. Every year the name was slightly changed and from 2006, it was also open to feature films.
