Absolute Rest directed by Iranian filmmaker Abdolreza Kahani has been warmly welcomed by Australian movie-goers.

The Head of Cineport Film Distribution Institute Armin Miladi said the social drama focusing on the problems of women has been so well received in the cities of Brisbane and Melbourne over the past two weeks.

Absolute Rest recounts the story of a woman who leaves her hometown with her child after getting a divorce, but her ex-husband does everything he can to force her to get back.

The film is also scheduled to be screened in Sidney as well as the US cities of Los Angeles, New York and Washington D.C.
