Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif left Tehran for Tunisia on Monday morning as part of a new round of his international tours to North African states.

The Iranian foreign minister is scheduled to meet with his Tunisian counterpart and other high-ranking officials of the African country.

Zarif is also planned to visit Algeria in his tour of North African nations.

Bilateral ties and regional and international developments will be high on the agenda during the Iranian foreign minister’s visit to the two African states.

In his previous international tours after the Vienna nuclear talks, Zarif had visited several countries including Kuwait, Qatar, Iraq, Lebanon, and Syria in the Middle East as well as India, Pakistan, and Russia.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has repeatedly emphasized that his government’s approach in foreign policy is to have more constructive interaction with the entire world in the wake of the conclusion of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) reached between Iran and six world powers on July 14.
