Hamid Baeidinejad is an Iranian carrier diplomat in the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He is currently the Director-General for Political and International Security Affairs and is also a member of the Iranian nuclear negotiating team.

Baeidinejad was born in 11th October 1962 in Tehran. He was graduated from the School of International Relations affiliated to the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1989 and joined the MFA the same year
He started his carrier as the expert on Disarmament in the MFA and participated the UN Disarmament Fellowship Program in 1990. He participated afterwards as the representative of his country in the 1991 First Committee which pursues and adopts UN General Assembly resolutions on disarmament and international security. He also participated actively in the negotiations on the Chemical Weapons Convention within the Conference on Disarmament in Geneva and consecutively its implementation within the newly established Organization known as the OPCW in the Hague.
Baeidinejad was assigned as the First Secretary from 1992 to 1996 to the Misson of Iran to the UN office at Geneva and was appointed as the Deputy head of Iranian delegation to the Conference on Disarmament (CD). From 1992 to 1996 CD had been mandated to negotiate the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty. Baeidinejad continued his carrier in Tehran as the Director for Disarmament in the MFA and from 1999 to 2002 was assigned as the Counsillor on Disarmament in the Iranian Mission to the UN Headquarter in New York
After his return to Tehran he was appointed as the director for Multi- lateral plitical Affairs and then the Director-General for International Political affairs which was mainly covering disarmament issues.
He served as the Ambassador and Iran's Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Mission at Geneva from 2008 to 2011.
Baeidinejad's area of expertise is disarmament and international security and he has participated in many of the negotiations and main conferences on disarmament including the NPT conferences and meetings of the States Parties to the Convention banning the Biological and Toxin Weapons since 1992 to the present. Ha has been chairing numerous meetings on disarmament and has led Iran's delegations to many international conferences and meetings. He was appointed as the current Director-General for political and international security affairs in August 2013 and served as one of the members of the new Iranian nuclear negotiating team who negotiated the Joint Plan of Action( JPoA). He has continued to serve as the member of the Iran's nuclear negotiating team implementing the JPoA and negotiating the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPoA).In addition to great number of statements, working papers, policy papers and briefing booklets, he has written a number of books and substantive articles on disarmament and multilateral as well as UN affairs. He has family with 3 children and lives in Tehran.
