Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said the US has to stay faithful to its commitments towards the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

In a joint press conference with his Romanian counterpart Lazar Comanescu after their meeting here on Wednesday, he said the US president has to understand the real meaning of today's world and try to go in harmony with international developments.

He said it is customary with Iran not to interfere in other countries’ internal affairs.

Noting that Iran and the US lacked official relations, the foreign minister said the important issue is that the next US president has to abide by the country’s commitments towards the nuclear deal.

He said the international community too, certainly expected the same from the United States.
