Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will lead a high level Iranian delegation to Pakistan on Wednesday to meet top Pakistani officials on the recent terrorist attack near Iran border with Pakistan which resulted in martyrdom of some Iranian border guards.

During the one-day visit the delegation will meet top Pakistani officials to discuss recent border attack on Iranian border guards in Mirjaveh region near Pakistan border.

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qasemi on Tuesday night also confirmed Zarif's visit to Pakistan.

At least ten Iranian border guards were martyred by terrorists near Pakistan border in southeastern province of Sistan and Balouchestan on April 26, while patrolling at the zero border point. The terrorists fled to Pakistan’s territories after killing the Iranian border guards in an ambush.

Earlier, President Hassan Rouhani in a written massage to Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, had asked Pakistan to take urgent and serious measures for securing border and bring terrorist elements to justice.
