President Hassan Rouhani said that the nation would become more united and would foil all ill-wishers’ plots and conspiracies with the help of its powerful security structure.

President Hassan Rouhani in a message released on Wednesday offered condolences to the bereaved families of victims of recent terrorist attack in the capital, Tehran.

He hailed the security established in the county for the past four decades as well as successful holding of elections in Iran on May 19 and noted that in the heart of a volatile region, Iran is the safest country.

The ill-wishers recruited Takfiri elements to hide their regional defeats, President noted, adding that undoubtedly, the attack would reinforce Iran’s commitment in fighting terrorism, extremism and violence in the region.

Fighting terrorism as a collective problem needs regional and international cooperation, he added.

President Rouhani said that security institutions will spare no effort to discover all aspects of the attack and those supported the terrorist operation.

In an apparently coordinated attempt, two terrorist groups attacked mausoleum of the late Imam Khomeini, southern Tehran, and the Iranian Parliament (Majlis) on Wednesday morning, killing 12 people and injuring 42 more.

One of the terrorist was gunned down by the security forces and another attacker blew oneself up outside the Imam Khomeini shrine.

The terrorist group of Daesh (the ISIS terrorist group) has claimed responsibility for the fatal attacks in Tehran.

Terrorists entered the Parliament building while they had dressed as women, said a security official.

Parliament operation ended by security forces who killed three of the terrorists, one of them had detonated himself before.

Meanwhile, according to an official at the Intelligence Ministry, several terrorist cells have entered Tehran to carry out terrorist operations but members of one of the cells have been arrested.
