The new US leaders should take lessons from the past and only use the language of respect when dealing with the Iranian people, spokesman for the Foreign Ministry said here on Saturday.

Bahram Qasemi made the remarks in reaction to the anti-Iran remarks made by the US President Donald Trump during his recent trip to Paris.

Describing Trump’s remarks as 'injudicious', Qasemi said the US president’s advisors are still living in the past fallacious atmosphere.

They had been unaware of the realities and basic truths in that period, and now, they are too far behind developments in Iran, region and world, the diplomat stressed.

Pointing to Iran’s positive and constructive role in both the world and region, Qasemi advised the new US administration to find out the reasons of rebellion and revolt in their own selfish and anarchistic measures which are being followed by their self-willed, aggressive and occupying allies.

During the July 13 joint press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris, Trump said 'We face new threats from rogue regimes like North Korea, Iran and Syria… .”
