A consular agreement between Iran and Austria was signed on Friday after two days of negotiation in the Austrian ministry of foreign affairs, Vienna.

In the meeting headed by the Director General for Consular Affairs at the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ali Chegeni, and Director General for Legal and Consular Affairs Elisabeth Tichy-Fisslberger, and attended by Iranian Ambassador to Austria Ebadollah Molaei and missions from the police and ministries of interior from the two countries issues pertaining to expansion of mutual ties in consular affairs were discussed and decided on.

Other issues discussed in the meeting included easing the travel and stay of the nationals of the two countries, combating drug trafficking, organized crimes, etc.
