Iran's spreading security domestically generated: Zarif

Politics - There is an inclination to regional and international cooperation in Iran; however, the country's security and progress are endogenous and extrovert and it is crucial to Tehran to live in a safe region, said the Iranian Foreign Minister on Monday.

If we look at the situation in the region, we see that, in the present cirumstances, the most important problem is perhaps a lack of proper understanding of regional problems which has led to taking wrong policies and measures to solve the disputes which in turn, added to the disordered condition in the region, Mohammad Javad Zarif said in a live video message to the International Conference on Iran and its Neighboring Regions.

The three-day international conference inaugurated in the Iranian capital on Monday to discuss developments in the Central Asia and Caucasia, Afghanistan and the Persian Gulf.

Zarif is currently in Pretoria, South Africa on the first leg of an African tour which began on October 22 and will later take him to Uganda and Niger.

He hoped in his message that the conference would help find a better understating about existing problems in the region and proper solutions for creating a safe region to live.

Tehran gives great importance to its neighboring regions, Zarif said.
He added that Iran's security and progress are resulted from Tehran's emphasize on public forces who are, in turn, the root cause of this security and progress.

Zarif also hoped that the conference can, in line with its goals, improve the cooperation in the region.
