Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei ordered continued intensive assistance to the quake-stricken people in western Kermanshah Province to relieve their pains and sufferings and resolve their problems.

The Supreme Leader made the remarks in an address to the heads of the three branches of government and several other officials.

The Leader said, 'We share sympathy with the brave people and courageous border guards of Kermanshah Province over the agony.'

He said, 'Loss of dear ones is bitter and difficult; however, we hope that God Almighty will bestow peace and tranquility to the hearts of the bereaved families and illuminate their eyes with its mercy and passion.'

Ayatollah Khamenei went on to say that such incidents prompt all to come to the scene to rush assistance and such passion and kindness is hoped to result in windfall of divine blessing for the courageous people of Kermanshah and Iranian nation in general.

Meantime, President Hassan Rouhani briefed the audience on the efforts of all organs in charge of rescue and relief to rush to help the injured and the survivors. 'Such an incident serves as a test and experiment for us. I thank all the organs that are busy delegating efforts, including the armed forces that recorded very good peroformance.'
