Iran Foreign Ministry spokesman condemned and dismissed the statement released by Canada on Iran's internal affairs.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran considers Canada's interventionist position as violating international commitments and also devoid of any legal justifications,” Bahram Qasemi said.

Taking a meddlesome approach, Canadian Government in a statement adopted an anti-Iran stance by saying “Canada is encouraged by the Iranian people who are exercising their basic rights to protest peacefully.”

The Iranian foreign ministry spokesman also pointed to the murder of an Iranian young man Babak Saeedi by Canadian cops, and said ignoring Iranian legal demands to enjoy primary consular rights indicates Canada's dual policies towards Iranian citizens.

“Adopting such stances is not compatible with the senior Canadian officials’ remarks as regard establishing negotiations with Iran,” he added.

“Unfortunately the rhetoric adopted by the Canadian government and the repetition of the wrong, illogical and inefficient rhetoric of former government in the country used to adopt against Iranian people are dismissed,” Qasemi noted.
