The Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution on Sunday highly praised the Iranian people for their massive turn out in today's nationwide rallies to mark the anniversary of Iran's 1979 Islamic Revolution.

'Through your will and insight you created an eye catching event and gave a decisive response to the enemies and foreigners,' Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said in a message addressed to the Iranian nation Sunday afternoon.

In his message, Ayatollah Khamenei said today's rallies were more crowded and more enthusiastic than those in previous years.

Based on its wrong and imperfect picture of Iran and Iranians, the enemy did its best through smear propaganda campaigns to play down people's enthusiasm for this year's Bahman 22 rallies but the Iranian people practically showed off to them the revolution is still alive and vibrant, the message said.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution also called on Iranian officials to appreciate such a unique phenomenon and serve the dear nation of Iran through their revolutionary and jihadist spirit.

'The future belongs to our conscious and wise nation. we should try not to lag behind our people,' the Supreme Leader said in his message.

The day of Imam Khomeini's return to Iran from exile (Feb 1, 1979) marks the beginning of the Ten-Day Dawn in ceremonies which culminate with the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution on February 11, 1979.

Iranian people toppled the US-backed Pahlavi regime 39 years ago, ending 2,500 years of absolute monarchy in the country.
