Pakistan Foreign Ministry in a message expressed grief and sorrow over the loss of lives after a passenger plane crashed in Iran.

“The news of Aseman Airliner air crash in the city of Semirom on 18th February has been received with deep sorrow in Pakistan. The Government and the people of Pakistan convey their condolences on the loss of precious lives in the tragic air crash,” a ministry statement said.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their bereaved families. May Allah Almighty bless the departed souls.'

Meanwhile Chief Minister (CM) of Pakistan’s eastern Punjab Province Shehbaz Sharif also expressed grief over Iran's plane crash and conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.

In his condolence message, the chief minister said, 'We stand with the people of Iran during this hour of grief and we wholeheartedly share the sorrow of the bereaved families.'

An ATR passenger plane ATR belonging to Aseman Airline crashed in the outskirts of Semirom city, south of Isfahan province, on Sunday morning and all its 59 passengers and 6 crew members were killed.

The plane was flying from Tehran to Yasouj, capital of Kohgiloyeh and Boyer Ahmad province.
