'Iran puts stress on protecting all countries' territorial integrity,' visiting Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami said during a joint press conference with Azerbaijani Defense Minister Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov.
He described his meeting with Azeri officials in particular the Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev as 'very good'.
The official said that both countries' leaders attach special importance to high level relations between Tehran and Baku.
In the meeting, the Azeri defense minister referred to good capacities for cooperation between Iran and Azerbaijan and noted that they have reached a consensus to enhance cooperation in training field.
He said that the cooperation between Tehran and Baku in the military and defense fields will be developed following the Iranian defense minister's visit to the country.
The Iranian defense minister had also a meeting with Azerbaijani Minister of Defense Industry Yavar Jamalov.
The two sides explored avenues for cooperation in joint production of military equipment.
The visiting Iranian defense minister had also a meeting with the Azerbaijan president and is expected to pay a visit to the country's military and defense sites.
The Iranian defense minister arrived in Baku on Wednesday on an official two-day visit.
