President Hassan Rouhani said Saturday performance of the Iranian banks has been great and in line with the country's economic growth.

The banks should continue their march to secure more trust from the world and the people in the country, President Rouhani said at the annual meeting of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) General Assembly held in the Iranian capital.

Iranian government has already presented three bills about countering money laundering and financial support for terrorism to Majlis (Parliament), and the world's attitude towards Iranian banks will change if the bills are approved, the president said.

President Rouhani also stressed the importance of promoting relations with the global banks in order to make use of their effective financial measures.

About inflation rate, the president said the country witnessed a single-digit inflation for the current Iranian calendar year which will end on March 20. 'There are a few countries which enjoy the single-digit inflation around the world.'

He hoped that the CBI would continue its way to control the inflation for the coming years.

The 57th annual meeting of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) General Assembly opened with participation of President Rouhani and senior financial officials of the country.
