Iran's commercial attaché in Iraq Naser Behzad on Sunday named 16 groups of Iranian commodities as the country's priorities for exports to Iraq.

Elaborating on the 16 Iranian group commodities for exports to Iraq, Behzad referred to machineries and industrial equipment, food products, make-up and hygienic cleaning substances, textile products, petrochemical and oil-based products, constructional materials, electrical home appliances, cellulose products, chemical substances, minerals, different types of fruits and decorative plants, animal products, industrial and medicine plants and leather and metal products.

Noting that Iraq imports nearly $1.5 billion of machineries and industrial equipment from different countries, the diplomat said that Iran has a five percent share of this sum.

The reason for the lack of presence of some Iranian commodities in the Iraqi market is failure to make a good marketing, Behzad said, adding that boosting exports to Iraq requires the involvement of major Iranian companies.
