Alexander Lavrentiev, Russian President Vladimir Putin's Special Envoy to Syria and Ali Shamkhani, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) discussed the latest developments in Syria.

During the unscheduled meeting, both sides reviewed the recent attack by the Zionist regime of Israel on Syria and the US President Donald Trump’s threats as regard military intervention in Syria affairs.

Due to its confidentiality, the meeting has not been covered by media.

The air attack of the Zionist regime against Air Base 'T-4' in Homs, Syria which resulted in killing of some Iranian military advisors in Syria and also Iran’s decisions in this regard were among other topics discussed by both sides.

The yesterday news on Russian military personnel based in Syria being put on high alert and its warning to the Zionist regime indicated that tensions between the United States and Russia will further increase.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi strongly condemned the Zionist regime's air attack on Syria and called it a clear violation of international law and in the direction of strengthening terrorism.

He said the Zionist regime's aggression against Syria, is violation of national sovereignty and territorial integrity of this country and contrary to all international laws and regulations.
