Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena conferred on Sunday with Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on issues of mutual interests.

Sirisena arrived in Tehran on Sunday at the invitation of President Hassan Rouhani for an official visit. The two counties' high-ranking officials signed five cooperation documents during the trip.
President Rouhani met with his Sri Lankan counterpart on October 11, 2016 in Bangkok, Thailand on summit meeting of Asia cooperation dialogue.
