Iranian consulate generals across Iraq will replace dollar with local currency (dinar) for payment of the costs of consular services, including visa issuance, within few days.

Issuing separate statements, Iranian consulate generals in Iraq announced on Friday that they will receive either the Iraqi dinar or euro for their consular services as of Tuesday (May 22) and that the US dollar will not be accepted anymore.

The decision was made in line with removal of dollar from the banking operations of the Iranian missions abroad.
