In his message to Azeri counterpart Ilham Aliyev released on Monday, Rouhani called for reinforcing relations between Tehran and Baku in different fields.
He also wished health and success for Aliyev and wealth and happiness for Azeri people.
Republic Day in Azerbaijan Republic honours the date on which the country was founded on 28 May 1918.
