Iranian President Hassan Rouhani counferred on Sunday with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping on expansion of relations and cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of Shanghai economic cooperation summit on Sunday.

In the meeting, both sides called for bolstering and expansion of economic and political cooperation between the two countries.

The two ministers also exchanged views on the expansion of cooperation on various issue while discussing the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

The Iranian president is in Qingdao to attend the SCO summit which was opened on Sunday morning with participation of leaders of eight member-states and four observers, including Iran.
