Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qasemi condemned attack on tourists in Tajikistan which resulted in killing and injuring a number of people.

 

'Iran denounces any terrorist attack in any area of the world,' Qasemi said.

He expressed regret over the accident and criticized negative claims in the statement released by Tajikistan Ministry of Internal Affairs against Iran.

The Islamic Republic of Iran dismisses any link with the incident or having a base for training sabotuers and terrorists, Qasemi added.

He also extended readiness for maintain cooperation with Tajik officials to review the issue.

Qasemi described raising such baseless issues as detrimental to brotherly and friendly relations between Iran and Tajikistan.

The Iranian foreign ministry also expressed the hope for both sides to help reinforce ties and not to let enemies disrupt relations.

Tajik Interior Minister Ramazan Rahimzadeh announced on Monday that the terrorist attack on foreign tourist cyclists claimed the lives of four American, Swiss and Dutch tourist and injured three others from Sweden, the Netherlands and France.
