French Foreign Ministry in a statement expressed condolences over the deadly terrorist attack in southwestern Iran.

France deeply condemns Saturday (September 22) terrorist attack in Ahvaz, reads the statement which was released by French Foreign Ministry on Sunday.

The statement also sympathized with victims of the incident, saying France is following up developments through its diplomatic mission in Tehran.

At least 25 people were killed and more than 60 others injured during Saturday morning terror attack in Ahvaz which took place during a military parade held to mark the 38th anniversary of an eight-year imposed war against Iran.

The self-proclaimed Saudi-affiliated Al-Ahwaz terrorist group claimed the responsibility for the attack.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in a message to the bereaved families of the martyrs of the terrorist attack urged intelligence forces to track down and prosecute the culprits.

Also Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a message on Saturday promised swift and decisive response to the terrorist attack.

'Terrorists recruited, trained, armed & paid by a foreign regime have attacked Ahvaz. Children and journos among casualties. Iran holds regional terror sponsors and their US masters accountable for such attacks. Iran will respond swiftly and decisively in defense of Iranian lives,' Zarif tweeted.
